I managed to totally mess up my mail spools while moving my Debian

up because I left off an option related to permissions on cp, and
reintalling those packages fixed the problem, but in this case
it did not work.

Hello,
I just install the latest release from Debian and I decided to try (again)
the LaTeX packages. But again I am running into problems. I compile a test

Thanks for your input to my cdrom problems. I guess i have to find and read

I would consider a bug the fact that you can save the database in a file

Having gotten nervous after almost losing my file system last week, I wrote a
little perl script to go through the file lists in /var/lib/dpkg/info and
check to see that the files are where they're supposed to be. Given the
current way of doing things in the packaging system, I think this is about

Hello,
The .xinitrc problem was solved. /etc/X11/config requires xsession
instead of xinitrc. xsession should be executable. Then all works.
Glut was uploaded as debian package yesterday :-)
Mesa still has to be upgraded to version 2
I changed from fvwm to fvwm2 and didn't see the windows freeze
Is installation possible over a modem via an ISP? I'd really like to
give Debian a try, but I can't afford a CD-ROM, and I don't have the
patience to make a zillion floppies.
Thanks,

In answer to your questions, bind keeps it's cache in memory, so yes,
if you reboot it it will clear the cache. Also, all data that comes
in has an expiration date on it, which states how long it's good for.
If that time expires, it removes that data from the cache, and looks
it up again when it
