Is there any possibility of someone making a deb file of the most
recent beta of SVGA Server for X (beta G). The reason I ask is that I
have a TGUI9440AGi that is not supported at all except in the recent
betas...
If someone would tell me how, I would be willing to do it.

That was part of the problem. 1.1.1-5 also moves the ServerRoot
and cgi-bin directories.
Anyway, fixed in dwww 1.1
Is there any particular reason why neither buzz nor rex has recent
kernels? I got the impression that 2.0.21 was pretty rock solid.

Note that executables have been banished from /etc by FSSTND for a
long time. Try /sbin/getty, and you ma

The web site archives seem to have disappeared - probably being
digested. So this may have been answered.
I just installed Debian 1.1.4 on a new hard drive and can't get
ppp going. I have kernel support and asked that the module be
loaded as well. I am missing something simple.
I have built these
I am using Latex and it is working fine. I used the stable tex packages
and then picked up mfbasfnt_1.0-5.deb and mfdcfnt_1.0-1_all.deb from the
ftp site. (They are in rex and non-free I believe.)
Or as previous discussions indicated you could install the tetex or
ntex packages into /usr/local/b

I installed this dosemu package, and just installing it locked my system

Now dpkg reports dosemu as:

Dear Sir or Madam,
I'm having difficulty getting debian linux installed on my computer.
It boots alright, partitions the disk, initializes the swap and root
partitions, and mounts '/' on the root partition. Then, when I insert
the first base disk (when prompted) it comes up with a segment

I have 1.1.1-5 and it works and installed fine.

Anyone using the sbpcd driver? Until last night my server at home here
(a 386/40/8) was running some mess vaguely resembling Slackware 2.3
and 3.0, and I upgraded it to Debian last night. sbpcd was compiled
in to the kernel before, but with Debian it's a module. When I go

What kernel version are you running and what version of the standard
library?
{}{}{}{}
Yup no worries. Just installed the package from CD after Xfroms was
installed! This seemed to be important. Have you found the lyx list?

Hi all,
I have decided to assume that my ipfwadm/diald configuration works, and
will connect it to the internal network.
Now onto another subject, I need to set up mail services. My internal
network will have an eventual (dial-up) connection, so all mailboxes will
be handled by my ISP (reuna.cl).
Oh wise ones,
I am having problems with my modem. The modem is a PnP modem so I
have to initialize it with a dos PnP driver and then use loadlin to
boot. This is the time line and scenarios:
1) Had 0.93 w/ 1.2.13 minicom/pppd/chat all worked great, ppp/slhc as
modules. Modem is /dev/cua1 an
