I started updating my old netscape3.0b5 today with the 3.0 linux-elf binary
released recently on their FTP server.
Relaying on my experience with earlier versions I proceeded with the
update assuming that netscape WILL INCORPORATE MY OLD BOOKMARKS into the new
configuration.
In vain! It deleted

After installing debian recently, I've started getting messages from
the cron processes that it cannot find the 'savelog' command. I looked
for it on my system and cannot find it. Anyone know which package this
belongs to?
Thanks...
Splitting up the debian-user list is a good idea, but all those groups
should probably mirrored on a debian-user type mailing list, for the
people who do want to be getting all the mail.
Just my $0.02

Oh darn. I gave the wrong advice.
Try:
modprobe cdu31a cdu31a_port=0x340 cdu31a_irq=5
If you use "modconf" (the module configuration menu) use the arguments
cdu31a_port=0x340 cdu31a_

You need to tell Netscape how to find the XKeySymDB file. Try this:
setenv XKEYSYMDB /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XKeysymDB
Or, use the Debian package.
Just wondering, are you using the load_module.sh script or trying to
insmod the modules plainly. Dosemu comes with a special version of
insmod. When I run it from the script, it runs perfectly, only when I
run insmod plain does it fail like that.
Hope this helps,

It's a bug in Netscape that causes it not to poperly evaluate the test
condiditon. I have reported this bug to Netscape, so hopefully it will
netscape is a motif application, and all motif application will show that
behavior, there is a program written by one of the people at netscape
that is included in some X distributions. If you want it look at the
netscape faq at netscape site, it will give you a link to the program.
Hope this
If you think about it, c.o.l is really a misnomer. Linux is not really
the operating system. Debian is the operating system. Linux is just a
kernel, that many operating systems have based themselves on because it's
freely available and it has a lot of support on the net.
In that light, pu

It would probably be a good idea to remind folks (in the FAQ or wherever)
about the rationale for using curses vs. termcap. I tried to find one
using AltaVista and DejaNews, but I'll bet you can guess

Please help me. I wish to get off the mailing list. How can I do this?

Please help me . I wish to download Debian 1.1 from ftp://ftp.debian

Tell me where the source for "scilab" is, and I will remove its termcap
dependence. I'm a reasonably competent ncurses programmer.
Supporting two terminal management mechanisms would not be a good idea.
Bruce
Please help me locate all files needed to download Debian 1.1 .
Thank You
Hello,
Actually this termcap thing is beginning to get annoying. There are at
least two other packages I want to add that are not supported by anyone
yet. The most important being scilab, but it won't compile the way debian
has changed termcaps. I must have spent a day trying to redo the makef
I refuse to believe that it takes a 4.5 MB executable (no, it's not
statically linked) to have a useful X web browser.
I've tried Mosaic (2.7 beta), but it's rather dated (no frames, for
one thing). I also tried arena (beta-3), but it seems, well, like
there's substantial room for improvement in

After several hours of floundering, I got xdm working. xdm was not
running, I believe because some of the xdm startup files including
/etc/X11/Xsession were not

You may be giving the module the wrong argument (for that version, at least).
Try "modprobe cdu31 cdu31a=0x340,5" . Also, add ",PAS" to that if you are using
the CD connector on a Pro Audio Spectrum card.
Thanks

It has all the libg++ files on it. However, I do not have the old libg++
