I very much appreciate the service that this mailing list provides. Although
I am usually quiet here, the suggestions made by/for other persons is very

To the point: unfortunately, the volume is very large. I'd much prefer to get

Is there a good reason that the kernel headers have been separated from the
kernel source? I think it is a very Bad Thing to separate the headers from the
kernel. The kernel is the heart of the whole system, and I don't think it's
wise to split it up.

This exact message was given by dselect when it stomped all over my system.
I figured --force should __NOT__ be enabled by default.

tin was statically linked.

Hello,
Is it impossible to distribute a real compress program? I know there
may be problems with an LZW patent, but I don't know how they relate
to the distribution of a compress program for say personal use.
If this is possible I'll make a package for it.

It'll begin by asking you which partion you want to initialize (read "format").
Then it'll ask you which drive and which partition you wish to install to.

I've downloaded and installed debian with the 1.1beta diskettes.
