Really sorry about this one. I got error: X11/Xlib.h: No such file or directory error: X11/Xutil.h: No such file or directory and many more X11 errors from within a Qt generated moc_myclass.cpp file, so I thought it must be Qt. The errors were gone after installing the libx11-dev and libice-dev
