I've applied the following patches from the upstream bug report linked in
this bug report (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=309464). To the
source package of the current version:
https://projects.kde.org/projects/kde/kdemultimedia/kmix/repository/revisions/09aabd4a344e045eb3a554f47fb7f1f6
I've done as instructed by the previous commenter I note changes are listed
on the bug report page to solve this issue.
