I put the old configuration file back in, and kicker would not start, I
then looked at libiw28 and noticed I was running pre9 or more precisely
the file
26486 2005-09-07 21:17 libiw28_27+28pre9-1_i386.deb
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dpkg --install ./libiw28_27+28pre8-1_i386.deb
dpkg - warnin
I upgraded from 3.4.1 to 3.4.2 and was facing the same problem.
Following Adeodato's suggestion fixes the defect.
