I see by the age of this bug that this is something that either got
swept under the rug, or forgotten about. This is biting me currently as
I am packaging the entrance[1] display manager (hopefully for inclusion
in Debian proper). I think that this would be best addressed by
utilizing the alt

xdm, gdm, and kde all ask the shared/default-x-display-manager at high
priority. Debconf policy is that high priority is for items that don't
have a reasonable default. I think that as long as any of xdm, gdm, or
