Bug#639300: How is this bug still not fixed?

Guys, am I missing something? I cannot install both libmyodbc and okular/k3b/katepart in the same debian system. How do I connect to a MySQL database via odbc, AND have (eg) k3b installed at the same time? Is it current impossible in Debian?
