Raising priority since this affects possibly everyone, not just users of
ldap authentication. Feel free to change it back if this doesn't
justify "important".
Steps to reproduce:
1. useradd testuser
2. passwd testuser
3. expire the user's password, example /etc/shadow line:
testuser:sldbhjvmxd1v
I tested this without pam_ldap, and apparently the bug works there.
Also, this comes to syslog with default settings:
kdm: :0[8223]: Cannot write to greeter for display :0

I unarchived and reopened the bug, since I stumbled upon it. I'm using
current debian stable (lenny).
I'm using pam_ldap on common-auth. The passwords are not meant to be
changed in workstations, so I tried to disable it by setting pam_deny on
common-password.
However kdm doesn't seem to obe
