sorry about the bug report. The problem was triggered by something else...
...a dhcp server not supplying the 'domain' option. If /etc/resolv.conf misses
a domainnamen, SASL doesn't work.

Since upgrading to kmail 4.4.11 SMTP-Auth is broken.
Sniffing the traffic between kmail and the server shows, kmail does not even
try smtp auth even if the server supports it.
While sending emails a weird sasl error is displayed:

Since upgrade to lenny-5 kmail now also sends an MDN for all Emails I delete
unread.
This means all Spam Mails I delete generate a MDN to fake sender addresses.
I still didn't find out how to stop that behaviour.

higher debian version number than the official one.

Apparently korganizer and kpilot sync to the standard calendar file.
But korganized does this only periodicaly. (can be configured somewhere,
default 10 minutes...)
