I did a fresh install of cantor and cantor-backend-[maxima,kalgebra] today.
In trying to display a LaTeX rendered formula in Cantor I did the following

I think I encountered this bug as well on an amd64 system. It seems that the
multiarch configuration adds to the complexity because it complains to me about
dependency differences between i386 and amd64.
