First, I found that the problem was only affecting
one user -- my user. Naturally, the upgrade command

Upstream plasma developers have no intention of fixing this bug, as
they believe it is a bug in the vnc servers and not in plasma. See
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183974#c2. If you object to this
solution, please discuss it with upstream developers.

In KDE 3.5, Konqueror handled directories with thousands of image
files gracefully. It was responsive and you could start browsing the
directory immediately. Konqueror in KDE 4 now stalls a lot

If I copy image data from a graphics editor (eg: Gimp) and then try to
paste into a Dolphin (or Konqueror, in file browsing mode) window,
there is no popup asking me what file to save the image
