I have an OOo generated OASIS format spreadsheet, which I'm trying to open with
kspread. Command "kspread demot.ods" produces just a *huge* (1710, to be exact)
number of messages like

When I ssh to a remote computer to use some UTF-8 application, characters
randomly start popping up as question marks.
