I've a bit more investigation, I discovered that the culprit is not kdvi, but the new version of gs-esp which entered sarge at about the same time as KDE 3.4. This new gs breaks eps view in xdvi in addition to kdvi, but downgrading to the version in sarge fixes both. Can you move this bug over to
