I solved it for a few minutes by using a webmail app to move the messages
out of the inbox. Then KMail was able to sync without crashing. But
after moving them back, it happens every time. This is so bad that I
can't use KMail at all! I'm going to have to downgrade to the previous

I just noticed this bug report. Do you still have the
file /home/eike/.kde/share/apps/kalarm/expired.ics which caused the error? If
so, please attach it.
Did you do as instructed, i.e. fix or delete the file, but nonetheless the
error kept reappearing?

KMail runs fine with a backed up kmailrc (with and without TLS), so the
