I think this bug has EVERYTHING to do with kget beeing unable to read it's old
config file. Had the same crash after upgrading to KDE 3.3.0, and I had to
remove ~/.kde/share/config/kgetrc to make kget start.
And by the way, I get these errors too, and my kget is working now :

I can confirm that both methods of forcing the X server to use vt7 fixes
(or works around) the "keyboard not working sometimes" problem. The
problem seems to be due to a race condition during the boot process.
Without this directive, kdm starts X on the first free virtual

However I have to correct that as well, the problem seems to occur only with
icq contacts. However I could not yet determine a rule with which contacts it
fails and with which it works...
