I tried to found out some more about this issue, and it appears that
it is related to the login manager.
When starting X from it directly goes to KDE, without any problem.
The same is possible when starting a fail safe sess

I receive lots of bugs report of KDE user that do not have a menu
anymore.
I think kdelibs-bin should depends on menu-xdg for sarge:
1) menu-xdg is a very small package so there is no real gain to not have
it install
