An upstream bug report for this has been filed, and is being worked
on. By the way, as an unofficial tip: you get helped faster if you
report upstream KDE bugs ( i.e. bug

I have a debian/sid system with kde 3.2, kdm, ...
The user authentification is done via openldap.

Following the instructions, I edited /etc/pam.d/kdm-np and replaced its
first line :
@include common-auth
with :
auth required pam_permit.so
There may be a cleaner way to change this, I'm not a pam expert.
