A quick thanks to all who responded to my query about the Spanish locale. I solved the problem in Woody by setting en_US.ISO8859-1 as the default locale while running dpkg-reconfigure locale. Now OOWriter produces all the Spanish characters. Best, Ted Parks On Tue, 2004-11-16 at 06:20, Chris

I am trying to use the "es" keyboard to type Spanish characters in OpenOffice on Woody. Though I use setxkbmap to "es," some Spanish letters will not appear in OOffice. I also get a message when OO loads that "i18n OS does not support locale ""." I would appreciate any help, including where else
