Yes. As the deb says after installation.
Run usr/lib/openoffice/program/jvmconfig.
Works like a charm! :-)
Well, at least it triggers our plugin, which afterwards crashes:

The "enable java" button in tools/options/openoffice.org/security does
not work. Whenever I activate it and say "ok", it always becomes

It is too deeply integrated.

Because everything in Debian main (= free[1] software) has to be able to run
and build with free software alone. Since the Java features in OO
Hi Debian OpenOffice Team,
I wanted to ask why there is no java support in the default debian OOo
package.
I am currently programming a java-addon for openoffice. And I (or
rather the company) think it would be better for the users of the addon
if there were java support in the default

You can't at the moment, sorry. Java support is removed, not disabled.
We need a non-free JDK to build the java pieces, which would prevent
openoffice.
could you tell me how
can I enable the Java support ? I naively tried
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/java/j2re1.4.1_02/lib/i386:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
but it didn't work, I guess due to the above mentioned settings. What are
the names of the Java RE variables that need to be set up ? And in which
st
with openoffice and java in debian is and how I can easily check
if I got java-support when running the openoffice-binary. I would really
like to have docbook-support in my debian system, even if I have to
install a non-free binary like a java-vm.
