If you read my second mail and wouldn't have replied to quick you'd have
seen that I noticed that too. ;)

Actually, it has not been integrated (that was a wrong information). It
is disabled for 3.4 because it does not apply on 3.4 and later.

You are too quick.
It says you need to build 3.3 without patch optional-outplace-ole.diff.
This has just been built in ppa:libreoffice/ppa and I confirm that it
solves this bug.
It also says 3.4 does not show this bug, even though the patch seems to
be integrated into mainline.

René,
I just downloaded current (3.30_m20 NL) from the OO site and installed
all (except desktop integration as that won't with installed LO on
Ubuntu).
With this version Edit forms does work.
I have not tried to install LO directly, I believe others have already
tried?

I can confirm this problem in kubuntu natty + updates (libreoffice
1:3.3.2-1ubuntu4).
René, I can not confirm Base being useless for anything serious. We use
base in the office for some serious applications as a front end to
postgresql (sdbc driver) and it works actually very nicely.
I also use
Package: libreoffice-base
Version: 1:3.3.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #617319
Same problem here, and I'd like to tell that:
1) status bar is disabled and not working in form and report view
2) the problem with toolbars is in report view too
I hope it can be useful.

I have the same problem, and I've done nothing special to my libreoffice
installation (i386).
All toolbars are disabled when a form is opened for edit, and they can
not be enabled.

Thanks for your attention.
I did not force any dependencies, I just use aptitude, which thinks that all
the dependencies are present:
mniven@tapuz:~$ sudo aptitude search libcairo2 libgtk2.0-0 librdf0 libxaw7
