Sorry for making trouble -- I guess it was issue with some library
upgraded during recent system upgrade. The machine I was having problems
with is at work and it's not rebooted or even X aren't restarted very
frequently. This time restarting X server fixed the issue.

dictionaries-common package so I tried reinstalling it and it worked. So
*something* is broken, but not necessarily the post-install script. Log
below.
