in Edit > Database > Advanced settings" was set. I unset it and the
problem seems to be resolved.
Is this a new setting that defaults to being set? Or a setting that has

I can confirm this, for text files too. If I try to open a text file of an odt
file and there is no extension on the file name, nothing happens. This is the
same whether I try using the OpenOffice open dialogue or from Nautilus. If I
rename the file with the appropriate extension it open
That is: á (á U+00E1) and ó (ó U+00F3) appear wrongly in regular
Arial and Bitsream Vera Sans fonts. In both the á (á U+00E1) comes out
as a space. In Arial the ó (ó U+00F3)comes out correctly but in Bitsream

window, a blank openoffice screen, and the box requesting the password opens in
a different one or on the desktop. I use Gnome with Debian testing.

The OOo base report wizard is not working for me. All it does is to
open a writer page and it seems not to finish loading (the progress bar
stops half way across).
Has anything changed in etch that might affect this? I seem to remember
that it worked once.
