Hallo again, sad news from "mysql-connector-linux_4-3_x86_64.oxt", I just run into the problem, that it is unable to WRITE more than 96 chars into a TEXT field, either directly using base's table view or via a text control on a form. Trying so, you'll  get a "HY000 2006" error from mysql (mariadb)
