This is definitely a real bug.
The openoffice.org-emailmerge preinst tries to do:
basis=`readlink /usr/lib/openoffice/basis-link`
but this link does not exist, so the preinst exits with an error.
The problem is that
- this link is not in old versions of openoffice.org-common
- the PreDepen
