openoffice and croatian languange

Hi all, I am new to open-office and I have a small problem, I have .doc files saved in Croatian, it loads them perfectly but the problem is when I want to type Croatian It types plain US... I think that the problem is that I have to switch keyboard to Croatian, but how to do this, and I'm using

Here are my experiences, with the new packages (1.0.1-5) where the help files are separated from the language packs: I have installed OpenOffice.org with a language pack and the English help because there is no help in that language yet. However, OOo is not able to find any help files at all.
