This was due to an array of structs not having a null member. Using
the const qualifier moved it to .rodata, where it worked by chance.

For me, this takes about 830M of memory and then goes into an infinite
loop. With 4.1, it takes about a minute and uses 148m, so it's
apparently fixed.
