gcc-3.4_3.4.1-4sarge1 on alpha still needs binutils 2.15

gcc-3.4_3.4.1-4sarge1 on the Alpha still uses the --as-needed switch supported by binutils-2.15 but not 2.14.90.x that is in sarge. I assume gcc-3.4_3.4.1-4sarge1 has been built on a system with binutils 2.15. I rebuilt it on my Alpha with binutils-2.14.90 and it works fine. Could the powers that
