Can we wait until gcc-9 is the default compiler?

Upstream GCC has removed the powerpcspe support in GCC 9, and I'd like to stop
building the powerpcspe cross compilers for sid/buster. This doesn't affect the
native GCC 8 builds, but only gcc-8-cross-ports, gcc-7-cross-ports,
gcc-defaults-ports and binutils.

I didn't yet look at the patches, and probably won't before 4.9 is released. I
would prefer if you could work on 4.9, and then backport patches to 4.8 if needed.

This kind of patch was on my todo list for quite long time. It is safe

Hi,
The build process itself doesn't involve dpkg-cross at all, but dpkg-cross is
added to Build-Depends when building a cross-compiler.
The attached patch fixes that.

I'm currently trying to build cross-compilers on my system. I found two

Hi all,
I'm trying to help Haakan Ardo with the toolchain-source package
and I'm having trouble building a cross compiler. First I must
say that I'm not yet 100% done with integrating the 4.0.3 line
of gcc into the toolchain-source package and that is why I need
your help.
I can build binutils a
