So the problem is that __thread is (now?) a keyword but it's been used as
an identifier? I didn't realize that was the issue if that's it.

Does this mean that g++ 3.4 _really_ needs lib6 (>= 2.3.2-ds1) and that
there is no hope of a correctly working backport? Or is there something
else I can try?
