Actually, there may be a mistake in the current rules file which is
causing it to always build without an -O flag...
Changing the rules to work correctly (to use -O2 as you mentioned)
appears to fix the problem, though I assume that will mean

And regardless, if there's an optimization level that will work, then
that's great (should have though to try that myself), and I can uplo
behaviour sanitizer (x32 debug symbols)
