Please bring back the non-free documentation. If it really has to be
removed from the source package, please make a separate source package
just for the documentation. gcc is not like tar which has a good free
manpage - without the GNU manuals

gcc-4.3 forgets some checks in -O2 and -O3, tested on x86_64 and arm
(cross-compiler) targets.

One of our users was having trouble compiling "foss" and getting the error:
cc1: out of memory allocating 37224 bytes after a total of 13787136 bytes
[clearly rubbish]
I've found that the program compiles flawlessly if I modify the
Makefile and change "gcc" to "gcc-3.3". Our "gcc" is
