I'm not sure whether they are in the released version of Emacs 21, or just in CVS, but check out the `unify-8859-on-decoding-mode' and `unify-8859-on-encoding-mode'; they should solve many problems of this sort, I think. -Miles -- I'm beginning to think that life is just one long Yoko Ono album;
