Problem solved: I had `bitmap-mule' installed, which caused the silly display mess-up. Working beautifully now! Let me just state that there is no problem in this regard with the Debian package. In fact, the UTF-8 support would be a very nice package to add to Debian. :-) Thanks, Stefan -- PG
