Bug #320119 is marked fixed in 1.4.1-17.1, which is only available in unstable. In the meantime, LFS support has been broken for stable on i386 for the entire lifetime of the current stable release. Will -17.1 be making its way into stable any time soon? http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrep
