somebody in German Debian-mailinglist said, that most recent bugs of
recent months,
looks as if there is a failure in glibc resp. in libc.
He said that it seems to be a byte-wise error in download package of glibc.
Seems to concern glibc-package of recent summer.

Maybe try to uninstall all installed nvidia drivers, and then run your
machine with vesa.
I know oft Solus Linux that this was a bug in nvidia drivers.

Düring Installation keyboard-settings were German. I encrypted harddisk
with LVM with password.
Now is Login for password for LVM partition.
Which keyboard settings are now?
US-keyboard or German? German is only in gdm of GNOME?

This keyboard bug with encrypted LVM Installation was last year happening

Apparently the installer compels each time before Installation to delete
hard disk too slowly.
It should be optional to delete (slowly) the harddisk or to format harddisk
quickly.
In 9.5 installer there is no option for formatting without deleting.
in /usr only ?...
I thought therefore in later years Linux had created /opt ?

It would be a possibility, for safety to create a new directory only for
brandy 3rd-party-software like skype, Google Chrome, Swift, and else
Software where huge companies are Sponsors.
This would then mean, to create a second sources list for 3rd-party-links.
