Personally, I find procmail underpowered for a proposal like
this. Try mailagents generic command server mode, which comes
pre-built and read to customize.
For scalability (short of going with Oracle v7.2), I'd try
postgreasql and mailagent. Sharper learning curves but inf

i agree. ther german suse distribution for example has one, and it's
great. we should try to get as good results. they proved that such a
database could do great things.
I think that it would be useful if we were to design a technical
support database (something along the lines of GNATS but more user
friendly) that created an online searchable database of issues that
had been raised by users and the resolutions that had come out of it.
