debian-reference (2.109) on Mon, 18 Dec 2023.
If I remember correctly, the intent of this change was to move all
HTML/PDF/Plain_Text document to a path under /usr/share/doc/ for better policy
compliance.

I belive debian wants to provide its documentation as packages in stable
releases.
But currently debian-reference is scheduled for auto removal on 2025-04-15
(which this mail bumps a bit into the future).
Maybe "nobody" is aware of this?
Anyone up to taking a look at this?

Hi,
I have updated "Debian Reference" (English) in unstable with major
change in its contents:
http://people.debian.org/~osamu/pub/getwiki/html/index.html
I have one question and generic request for review.
* question
What is the next release name after lenny?

I use xsltproc in a number of build situations and removing --nonet is
NOT
Hi,
Has anyone any advice on how to build the Reference Card[1] from source?
I have removed the "--nonet" from the xsltproc call so that it can
download "http://db2latex.sourceforge.net/xsl/docbook.xsl";, but now it
fails:

what I believe you miss is something like "New to Debian?" that points people
to documentation they should read first, this includes: the installation
manual, the FAQ and the Debian Reference.
Maybe the support page (www.debian.org/support) should list these

Before I get too involved however, can somebody give me a guide as to
how the Reference is looked upon from within Debian?

will avoid other flamewars and misunderstandigs.
But atleast the flamewar was not completly use
