'country' package is also available at http://www.cse.fau.edu/~itambour/ .
Both are temporary locations until 'country' is accepted by the
distribution and thus fetchable by apt-get(1).

In my application was sending tiny interactive packets and did not notice
anything unusual with writev. I would be most surprised if this is not
the case.

used sock, the 1990 version of the program was not completely
finished as I remember, but it was very useful utility indeed. A lot easier
to use than netcat.
The copyright was either bsd or public domain (if memory serves).
