I've got a package version 1.5.0-1 that I've already packaged. There is a new upstream release 1.5.1. Should the new package be named 1.5.1-1 or 1.5.1-2 or is it up to my discretion. Since it's an entirely new source tree it would make sense to use 1.5.1-1. Are there any official policies on thi

I'm trying to develop a system of identifying all the files belonging to packages that have changed on a system. This is very important if you want to save a current configuration. For example I go in and tweak various files here and there (init scripts) or change config files (sendmail, etc...)
