Just an idea, no flames, etc intended:
Could maintainers who have packages that create directories/etc in
/usr/local make sure they do it in a way that is friendly to
nfs-mounted /usr/local?
Example:
On all of our debian 1.1 machines, /usr/local is an nfs mounted
directory, and on all but one of

I'm running dselect in an xterm. I go to the "[S]elect" part of it, and
the up and down addor keys scroll through the list of packages. But when I
type "/mosaic\n", to search for mosaic, the arrow keys stop working.

I can't duplicate this. I'm running 2.0.15, libc5.2.18-10. I skipped

Does anybody have or know where I can find the msql 1.0.14 packages?
The newer ones don't seem to work (for me at least) at all.
Please respond by email or copy me on any reply as I have not been able
to resubscribe to the debian-devel list lately.

Package: bind
Version: 4.9.3-P1-3
If you say yes at the appropriate prompt, bindconfig will create zones
called `localhost' and `0.0.127.in-addr.arpa'. This is correct, but it
could go further -- all of 127.0.0.0/8 is loopback, so it could provide the
`127.in-addr.arpa' zone with one entry, `1.0.

dpkg 1.3.10 contains version 2.0.0.0 of the package maintainers'
manuals. With this release the new source format is made official.
Maintainers should start thinking about converting their packages.
There is no rush yet, but packages which you're updating anyway are
probably best converted now.

In many traditional unices, swapon can take a "-s" option. This means
list the partition (or files) currently in use. Linux's swapon doesn't
have this option, but it would be nice if it did.

Ncftp dumps core when invoked in an xterm window of width 160 or more.
Looks like this is a ncftp bug and not a ncurses ones... Dselect works
just fine in wide windows, and so does pine.
