I finally managed to create a Debian package for my favorite shell. Please let

distribution proper.
Note: this version is ELF and requires ncurses3.0.

I have written a new method for dselect that uses ftp.
To install, untar the attached file and copy into
/usr/lib/dpkg/methods/ftp
Compile the dvercmp.c file, and put the executable some where in the
default path (/usr/local/bin)
Create a directory /var/lib/d
We'd might as well keep ELF package announcements in debian-devel rather
than debian-changes for now. I've redirected a few messages that way
in the last few days.

Sorry, let me explain:
I've announced them on debian-changes, and they are currently sitting in
the queue on the European upload site.
You should be able to get them from
ftp://myrddin.chu.cam.ac.uk/pub/sde1000/debian/X11 until they arrive at
ftp.debian.org

The man page for diald is located under /usr/doc/diald. Could

Well, actually, all he did was suggest an excellent solution for something
that had been bothering me about the ncurses packages:
When installing ncurses-base, you have to do all sorts of special things
using dpkg to get dpkg to pretend that you're not messing things up by
removing ncurses-runti
I've reconsidered this, and I think it really is a problem with umount.
Although in the general case `umount -a -n' should never be necessary, there
are exceptional cases where the root filesystem is remounted read-only *after*
/etc/mtab has been updated with other mounts.
I think it's probably be

In the following excerpt from debian.rules, it should be

I spent an evening looking at "linuxconf-1.0", and decided it's not for
us, at least just yet, though we should probably have something like it.
It seems to be quite slackware-dependent at this stage in its evolution.
I have Neil Turton's GPL-ed master boot record working to my satisfaction,
