Hi,
I have recently joined this list, and I am not sure what the
protocols are yet, so please go easy on me.
I have been on the user list for a long time, but have only
recently installed debian, and (finally) I would like to contribute
to the project. Since time is the major c

This is a script I've placed in /usr/local/bin/aout on my system.
It's intended as an aid in building a.out packages on an
elf-ized debian system. It's invoked as:
aout { normal command line }
#!/bin/sh
PATH=/usr/i486-linuxaout/bin:$PATH

No, but ther
Note: when I talk about packages here, I don't mean packages in general,
but only development packages (like compiler, linker, binary utilities etc).

Hi,
I am working on converting to ELF so that I can rebuild the few packages
I maintain. The conversion seems to have gone fine, however, when I
build tin, it is trying to link with libtermcap.a. I have installed
libc4, but should I be using this termcap library? Or should there be
one in t
I just performed a new debian installation on an extra partition on my
drive using the stuff from debian-1.0 and the new elf packages so I
might be able to help with some development, and I had a couple of
hitches. Is there any readme about moving to elf (i.e. should I RTFM)?
Anyway, I noticed t

There seems to be some problem(s) with the 'linux' entry in the terminfo
database. I recompiled minicom to use it (figured I'd get the ELF version
out of the way) and now all of the dialogs are broken --- specifically, I
get extraneous `1m` strings in unusual places.
This doesn't happen if I ru
Can someone who knows a bit about elf and fpic tell me when do you
use fpic? Is it just for compiling shared libraries or what? What
compiler options should we be using for compiling stuff under elf?
