The new driver 14.9 is out [1] and according to Phoronix it should
support xorg-video-abi-18 [2].

The problem is the upgrade to xorg 1.16. fglrx seems to work with 1.15.
Testing also have the same issue as it uses xorg 1.16
This is also true of the 1:14.6~betav1.0-1 version in the experimental repo.
What a foolish dist-upgrade I performed. Using the free Radeon driver is
problematic for me, to say the least.
