I confirm the JAVA3D warning is harmless. I have it with all Java3D
application running with ATI hardware.
This is a localization problem.
The exception stack shows that resource icon#1 cannot be found. The source file
com/eteks/sweethome3d/io/DefaultFurnitureCatalog.properties tell that icon#

be a workaround:
remove or edit $HOME/.java/.userPrefs/com/eteks/sweethome3d/io/prefs.xml
