Indeed. I reckon a 0 size keytab is invalid, so that's the problem to
track.

If you have a proper krb5.keytab, does it still crash?
Maybe it's the fact that you have a corrupt keytab

Yes, I initially wanted to create an empty file before using the proper
tool to fill it. Well, I never got to that, due to the sshd crash :(
