works again. My version of libgal2.4 is still 2.4.2-1

Ok, sorry for all the noise. I finally found the root of the problem.
libgal2.4 version 2.4.2-1 (etch's) is buggy.
But libgnomecanvas2-0 version 2.8.0-1 (
