I confirm this bug, on all my (a least) x86 and x86_64 installations. Upgrading gnome-session to the sid version (and X, as it's a dependency) solves the problem, so maybe it's a bug in the way the old (2.22) gnome-session starts the newer (2.24) gnome-settings-daemon ? -- Nicolas Trecourt PGP
