Following the push of Xorg 7.4 in testing, gnome-session have been
pushed too.
So the problem is solved, I think the bug can be closed.

As I understand this, it's not really a bug in gnome-settings-daemon,
but a more complex issue.
The problem is that this version of gnome-settings-daemon needs a more
recent version of gnome-session, wish is not yet un testing because it
depends on xorg 7.4 (and that's also the reason why upgra
I confirm this bug, on all my (a least) x86 and x86_64 installations.
Upgrading gnome-session to the sid version (and X, as it's a dependency)
solves the problem, so maybe it's a bug in the way the old
(2.22) gnome-session starts the newer (2.24) gnome-settings-daemon ?
