incompatibility with a previous version. Attempts to remove or purge it
would remove various other packages, such as lsb or alien.
Setting up
The problem appears to be caused by unresolved dependencies when
tracking stable, but using kernel packages from testing or unstable. The
follwing steps are needed to get this situation straightened out:
1. aptitude remove linux-image-2.6.18-4-686
2. aptitude install coreutils/unstable
